Voice Over Experience

Norman's experience with Voice-Over began while he was in high school. Six years of college, it provided his livelihood. He wrote news and scripts and interviewed the famous and not-so-famous. Was an on-air personality and even "ran the board" for "The Navajo Hour", four hours of broadcasting in the Navajo language. As a practicing architect and educator, his public speaking skills carried him well for over 40 years. Now, once again, he is bringing those skills back into the world of Voice-Over and is eager for the opportunity to be of service in your next project..

about
Norman Bechtold

Radio Bio

I first sat behind a mic at age 15 at a 250 watt station (KLOV) in Loveland, Colorado. For the next six years at stations in New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona, broadcast radio paid the bills as I acquired my Bachelor in Architecture Degree at ASU. During those years, I was an on-air personality, a news reporter, and copy writer, and did interviews with celebrities and future presidents. After graduation, broadcasting took a back seat as I pursued a successful career in architecture, designing custom homes all over the Southwest and Hawaii. For ten years I was Head of the Fine Arts Program at Chaminade University of Honolulu, and taught through the curriculum. Now it is time to return to my first dream and to use this voice that has guided clients through projects, sold ideas and points of view to students and encouraged and reached out to convince, console and connect. This voice, and the person behind it can assist you in your projects as well. When your needs call for a mature, compassionate, friendly and empathetic voice, I can provide the answer professionally, quickly and at reasonable market standard pricing. For your next project, let this voice be your voice.

Voice Over Skills

E-Learning

E-learning is relatively new and has become a powerful communication tool across countless businesses and service industries. To succeed in e-learning, a voice must be authoritative and commanding as well as passionate about the topic, product or service. To keep an audience's attention, requires imagination and concentration. With over 10 years lecturing to international students at Chaminade University in Honolulu, Norman has proven he has the right stuff. He understands pace and that clear, accent free, pronunciation are vital, particularly where the audience might be multi-cultural and multi-lingual. If you are in need of a mature, professional and sensitive voice for your next e-learning project, Norman Bechtold could, indeed, be Your Voice.

Documentaries

Documentaries can be informative and educational, and, unfortunately, sometimes boring. Just as a good documentary tells a story on film, it should tell a story in it's narration as well. A narrator for a documentary needs to tell the story, not just read the script. He needs to take the audience on a journey. That journey reflects the joys and sorrows, the mystery and intrigue. The pace may be hard hitting and dramatic or meandering and easy going, or mysterious and dark. A voice that can do that adds great character and depth to the visual image. Norman Bechtold has that kind of voice. He knows how to be a story teller, using words to enhance and enrich, to bring visuals to life. Let Norman Bechtold be Your Voice.

Radio Ad

Because of radio's ever evolving nature throughout the digital evolution, radio consumption and advertising are at an all time high. When Norman Bechtold started voicing radio commercials in the 1960's most were high energy and very pushy. Buy, buy buy!!! Today, some of that is still around but more and more ads are moving to a trusting, conversational approach. Family and friends are trusted and their words are listened to and acted upon. Norman Bechtold has the voice of a trusted friend, mature, low key, no hype, but not boring. Excitement is genuine, not affected, and it gets results. Let Norman Bechtold be Your Voice. It will be a good decision.

Television Ad

Just as in documentary narrations, the right voice adds texture and depth to impressive images. Television ads take you places and great voices gives those places life and depth. Those voices can be joyous, somber, excited, tranquil, sometimes consoling and always adding humanity to video that stays on a consumers mind. Great voices for television advertising add to the entire experience and brings it to life. Norman Bechtold has just such a voice. He analyzes scripts carefully before he speaks. He searches out the real message and the real consumer audience.
